Quilted and Bound: tbd
Fabrics: Kona Cottons - Shadow, Medium Grey, Pickle, Wasabi.  Art Gallery Denim - Smooth Denim in Indigo Shadow. Moda print - Chic Neutrals Geometric Gems/Off White

For the Summer Sampler, I am going with a limited palette - a couple of greys, a subtly different green and yellow,  a low volume grey on white print and a lightweight denim. Originally, I chose a rainbow fat quarter bundle to be backed with a long-hoarded Anna Maria Horner print, Summer Totem.  However, while playing at my sewing table, I noticed how well an Art Gallery Fabric denim paired with the Summer Totem.  Then I pulled in some nearby Kona pickle and added some grey to bring in a neutral.  Over the next few days, I waffled between the rainbow bundle or this newly discovered palette.  It was a total accident, but I could not get the denim idea out of my head.  I had to try it.  So far, I'm loving it.  It feels subdued, but with a pop of cool color from the pickle and wasabi. The pops of denim add some nice texture and dimension.

This rendering of the sampler grabbed my attention quickly.

My original fabric pull. Pretty and summery.

An idea started to form.
